Here you will find all of the local boat launches, harbours, and fishing spots in Grey and Bruce to plan your next day on the water!

If Georgian Bay is your destination, there are public boat launches in Meaford, Thornbury and in Collingwood. The Meaford Harbour has a large parkland area, municipal marina and community pavilion with lots of parking for cars, boats and RVs. You can stay for a day, a week, or even the entire summer! The Thornbury Harbour is open for the public to enjoy! Offering 250 docks, along with many amenities it is a great place for boaters and fishers alike! The Collingwood Harbour offers not only great boating but also spectacular views. Boating season begins April 1st and goes until October 31st. Close by in the Blue Mountains there is plenty of opportunity to fish in the Beaver River especially for Rainbow Trout, and Brown Trout. You will see many the ardent fly fisherman along the river’s upper reaches. A fish ladder near Thornbury allows fish to reach spawning areas up river.
If you are going to be by Owen Sound this area has fantastic fishing throughout the year! If you are looking for large Chinook Salmon, Brown Trout, or Rainbow Tour, you can find them on the Owen Sound Bay or along the Harbour walls. The active stocking program makes Owen Sound a favourite for anglers. A little further north, the Georgian Marina offers over 400 docks for boats up to 60 feet, sea doo slips, along with all the amenities you could ever need. Year round packages make this a hit destination for boaters in the area.

Boaters and fishermen alike travel from afar for the magnificent Lake Eugenia. Two of the most popular kinds of fish in Lake Eugenia are trout and bass. The lake was stocked with bass many years ago and is now known for its bass which are described as quite big. They say it is key to find the best holes and cast out! However, the main attraction is the trout, with Specks, Rainbows, and may even a few Brown trout though they are a bit more rare. Lake Eugenia offers more than fishing though, enjoy boating on this lake as well! Motorized watercrafts, manually propelled watercrafts and speedboats are all welcome, however speedboats must stay 330m from shore. It is also a great spot for canoeing, kayaking and even wind-surfing! Launch your boats for a small fee and your canoes and kayaks for free!

If you are looking for a quiet day on the water Irish Lake is the place for you. This 20 acre lake south of Markdale is non-motorized making it great for canoeing and kayaking. Plus the tranquility also makes for great fishing! With a maximum depth of 20 feet, there are several types of fish including Brook Trout, Rock Bass, Pumpkinseed, Small Mouth Bass and has been stocked with Rainbow Trout.
